Energy Star Partner/Participant
At Langto Construction, we are proud to offer new homes that have earned the Energy Star™ label. Energy Star-qualified new homes are substantially more energy efficient than homes built to the minimum code requirements. Our Energy Star qualified new homes are independently verified by a third-party Home Energy Rater to ensure they meet Energy Star energy efficiency guidelines. These homes are better for the environment and better for you. Our most recent homes built scored HERS ratings in the mid 60's....a home built to standard code scores approximately 100. An Energy Star Certified home has to score around 80. A home using zero energy scores zero, the lower the rating the more energy efficient it is.
Green Built North Texas Participant
We were the first builder in Wise County to build a Green Built Certified Home!! This is a voluntary partnership of local homebuilders, industry supporters, and sponsors committed to creating awareness and interest in the construction of higher-performance, lower-impact residential homes in Texas. The program has a construction protocol that Home Builder Association members have deemed essential in order for a home to be recognized by the program. Homes built to this protocol conform to higher standards of site management and waste recycling, water efficiency, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, materials, and homeowner education.
Building America Program Builders Challenge Participant
The U.S. Department of Energy has posed a challenge to the home building industry, to build 220,000 high performance homes by 2012. Homes that qualify for the Builders Challenge must achieve a 70 or better on the EnergySmart Home Scale (E-Scale), meaning that they will use at least 30% less energy than a typical new home built to code. The E-Scale allows homebuyers to understand at a glance how the energy performance of a particular home compares with others.
